Privacy Policy
Dhamma Reader
Dhamma Reader does not collect, store or share any personal information. There is no account, no sign-in, and no tracking of any kind.
What the app collects
Nothing. The app has no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party services that report on how it is used. No information about you or your device is sent anywhere.
What is kept on your phone
The app remembers a few things so that it behaves the way you left it. All of it stays on your phone, and none of it leaves:
- Your settings — language, appearance, text size, whether the screen stays awake.
- Your own chanting list, and where you last stopped reading in a text.
- Your mala bead counts.
- Reminders you have set.
- Recordings you have downloaded.
Removing the app removes all of it. There is no copy anywhere else.
When the app uses the internet
The app works fully offline, with one exception: the recordings for the eleven great protective suttas are downloaded the first time you play them, from thitsarparami.org. Once downloaded they are kept on your phone and play offline. No information about you is sent with that request.
Notifications
If you set a reminder, the notification is scheduled by your phone itself. Nothing is sent to a server, and no notification is sent by us.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages and collects nothing from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date below.
